Moving to York
York is just 40 miles from the east coast, and is championed as one of the most beautiful cities in the UK. It benefits from a thriving economy, excellent schools and strong commuter links both north and south, including London. It is not unsurprising to find out that properties to buy and rent in York are highly desirable.
There are a variety of properties to buy and rent in York. Homes in the city range from luxury riverside apartments and Victorian townhouses to large country-style detached homes and new-build starter properties.
Some of the most popular villages and towns in York include Terrington, Coxhold, Helmsley and Sutton-on-the-Forest. Malton is also growing in popularity and is known as a foodie town. If you are after period homes, Friars Terrace (next to the river) and the Bootham area have properties full of character. Bootham has some particularly south after historic townhouses.

Schools in York

York Transport Links
York city centre is enveloped by a ring road and a variety of different A roads spur off in all directions. The A1(M) is easily accessible in the west and the A19 southbound will take drivers to the M62. Hull and Leeds are about an hour’s drive away.
York is a major transport hub of Yorkshire and the train station has 11 platforms. Commuters can get to London Kings Cross in a timely 2 hours 12 minutes and Leeds is just a 25-minute journey if you hop on the very regular fast services. Other trains call at Scarborough, Doncaster, Sunderland, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Hull and Harrogate.
