Removals Services in Manchester
From our base in Manchester, we help people move home all over the city of Manchester and the surrounding areas, but we also provide removals services for longer distance moves, all over the UK as well as abroad.
Our team are all highly trained and we carry out several removals every week, so we have a great deal of experience, and a fleet of different sized vehicles that can get into all sorts of locations, so you won’t have to worry about the logistics if living in the city centre or indeed one of the surrounding villages.
Fully managed removals
Our removals service is fully managed, and puts you at the heart of the whole process. We can provide everything you need to ensure your move is as easy and stress-free as possible.
We will carry out a pre-move survey at your home, so we can discuss what you would like us to move – everything from your sofa to the potted plants in the garden so that nothing is forgotten. The survey will also help us to work out how many removal staff we need, what size vehicles and what your budget and time constraints are. This will enable us to provide you with a comprehensive removal quote.
We also offer a range of additional services including a full or part packing service, a comprehensive choice of storage options, international removals and business removals. Please let us know if you need assistance with any stage of your move.
We pride ourselves in offering a personalised service with an excellent level of customer care, so if you choose to move with Britannia Bradshaw you won’t have to worry about a thing.

Moving to Manchester
If you are looking to move to or from Manchester get in touch with Britannia Bradshaw. Located in the heart of Manchester, we are ready to help with not only Manchester removals, but any of the surrounding areas.
Manchester is made up of a multitude of different areas but many have an image of a bustling city-centre metropolis in their mind’s eye. However, this is not the case. Whilst Central Manchester is vibrant and multicultural, there are plenty of areas that offer a more rural way of life. It is best to consider Manchester as South Manchester, Central Manchester, East Manchester, and West Manchester (including Salford).
Central Manchester
Central Manchester understandably offers fantastic city centre living. It is home to the UK’s tallest residential luxury tower block, Beetham Tower, which stands 47-stories high. Plans are in place for a similar block to be built in Salford. Talking of Salford, Salford Quays has undergone some minor redevelopment and is now a popular residential area for waterside living. Castlefield is a unique portion of Central Manchester; a perfect balance between period and contemporary. The infamous areas of Moss Side and Hulme have not had a fantastic reputation over the years but their dramatic transformation has made them much more appealing.
North Manchester
North Manchester is not the most sought after location to live in Manchester but, for this reason, property prices are cheap. It is renowned for being the most cosmopolitan district of the city and places like Prestwich have a long established Jewish community, whereas Cheetham Hill and Crumpsall have a large Asian and European population. Based around Moston Lane are the traditional working class areas of Harpurhey and Moston and residents love living there due to a strong sense of community.
South Manchester
Properties and areas in South Manchester are very diverse but homes, overall, tend to be a little more expensive. Didsbury Village and Chorlton are trendy and sought after places to live, as are the suburbs just outside of Trafford; Stretford, Urmston, Sale, Altrincham, and Hale Barns. More affordable areas include Stockport, Longsight, and Levenshulme (which has a big Irish community). There is also a strong student presence in South Manchester, mostly around Wilmslow, Rusholme, and Withington.
East Manchester
Thanks to the Commonwealth Games, once deprived and neglected areas of East Manchester, such as Clayton, Openshaw, and Beswick, have received massive regeneration. Manchester City FC also call East Manchester home, which has shone a new light on the district. The area is very much on the up and buyers should snap up a property here soon as east Manchester property prices are set to rise. Next on the hit list for regeneration are Hyde and Denton.
West Manchester/Salford
Rows upon rows of traditional Coronation Street terraces are pretty much all the eye can see in most residential areas of West Manchester. However, there is huge disparity. Estates such as Ordsall suffer with social deprivation whereas the popular Salford Quays could not be further from this. For easy connections to the city-centre head to Eccles and Monton Village is considered a wonderful place to live. For grand properties, head out to Boothstown or Worsley – a lot of Manchester footballers live here.
Manchester Transport Links
Manchester’s tram rail system, Metrolink, is a popular and affordable way to travel around the city. There are trams every six to 12 minutes, linking the city centre to Altrincham, Ashton-under-Lyne, Bury, East Didsbury, Eccles, Rochdale, and Manchester Airport.
Manchester Airport is the busiest outside of London and offers both national and international flights to over 200 destinations. Drivers can access the airport easily via the M56, or there is both a dedicated train and tram stop.
There are four main stations in Central Manchester, but the best served are Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Victoria. There are also many stations dedicated to areas of Greater Manchester, such as Bolon, Rochdale, Stockport, and Altrincham.
Manchester is the least car dependent city in the UK, with just 243 cars for every 1000 people. Like London, Manchester has its own orbital motorway, the M60. The other main motorways serving Manchester are the M61 (to Bolton and Preston), the M6 (to Wigan and Lancaster), the M56 (to Manchester Airport, Chester, Birmingham) and the M62 (to Liverpool, Leeds, Kingston-Upon-Hull). These are all accessible from the M60.
