Located on the coast in Fife, St. Andrews is a charming & historic town, bequeathed with historic stone-hewn buildings, the ancient University, cute shops and romantic ruins sitting high on blustering cliffs.
Below are unspoilt beaches, perfect for windswept strolls. The famous opening sequences of Chariots of Fire was shot on the magnificent West Sands beach. The medieval centre of St. Andrews is a web of cobbled alleyways with a multitude of shops, restaurants and cafes.
St. Andrews is a very sought-after housing area which makes the property quite highly priced (for a number of years the most expensive flat in Scotland was situated in St. Andrews overlooking the 18th fairway of the famous Old Course golf course).
The town has numerous beautiful Victorian semis, terraced villas as well as large detached homes. The whole of St. Andrews is blanketed in picturesque 16th to 19th century properties and everywhere is perfect to live.

Attractions in St Andrews
Visitors and residents alike are spoilt with the attractions close at hand with the ruins of the Abbey and the numerous University buildings along the main street attractions are easily accessible.
The University, dating back to 1410, has elegant ivy clad buildings throughout the town and boasts such alumni as Prince William and Princess Catherine.
The city is home to the private St Leonards school which was founded by the University, it caters to all ages from 5 to 18 with the option of boarding from age 12. In 2005 the Sunday Times names St Leonards as Scotland’s Independent School of the Year.
From a sporting perspective St. Andrews has a vast number of golf course both parkland and links, including the “Home of Golf” the Old Course housing the Royal & Ancient Golf Club.
St Andrews Transport Links
St. Andrews does not have a train station but is served by the nearby Leuchars station and is easily accessible via a 10-minute taxi ride or by bus. Trains travel to Dundee & Edinburgh on a regular basis.
St Andrews is difficult for parking therefore if you can use public transport this would be the best option.
