Secondary schools are by no means as strong in Scarborough. George Pindar and St Augustine’s ‘require improvement’ whereas Graham School Science College is ‘inadequate’. However, all three schools are following the information laid out in their latest Ofsted inspections and are improving rapidly. Traditional terraces having asking prices of £70,000 and over and flats start at £38,000.
Children who will be going on to further education can attend Scarborough Sixth Form College, which is ‘good’.
Transport Links Scarborough
If you want to travel around Scarborough and the local areas by car, there is no problem, with a number of A roads providing the main arteries. However, those wishing to travel further afield will find that the A1(M) is an hour away. Therefore, the nearest city of York is well over an hour’s drive away.
However, Scarborough does have an ample railway station with direct services to Leeds (1 hour 14 mins), York (48 mins), Manchester Piccadilly (2 hours 15 mins), Liverpool Lime Street (3 hours 9 mins), Hull (1 hours 28 mins), and Sheffield (2 hours 52 mins).
