Days Out in Havant
For a family day out, Staunton Country Park is an unquestionable option. This award winning park is an idyllic mix of ancient woodland and landscaped parkland and children’s play area. Most loved however is the park’s farm which is home to pigs, sheep, horses, donkeys, alpacas and goats!
Stanstead Park Light Railway is also very popular with families. Located in the beautiful grounds of Stanstead House, the 7¼ gauge railway travels along a half mile circuit. The train takes passengers of any age around the picturesque gardens on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Havant train station may only have two platforms, but there are a number of eastbound and westbound services provided by South West Trains, Great Western Railway, and Southern. Eastbound, there are eight services per hour. There are three trains to London Waterloo (1 hour 19 minutes) and two to London Victoria (1 hour 44 minutes). Brighton is a 1 hour 2-minute journey, and Littlehampton, 37 minutes.
There are ten westbound trains running to Portsmouth Harbour (17 minutes), Portsmouth and Southsea (12 minutes), Southampton Central (43 minutes), and Bristol Temple Meads (2 hours 28 minutes).
As well as a comprehensive bus network, Havant is also well situated for easy road access. It is located between the M27 and A3, offering quick journeys to Chichester, Portsmouth, and towns further afield.
