The M62 runs through the south of Merseyside and connects to Hull, Manchester, Leeds, and Huddersfield. For those wanting to travel to the likes of Birmingham, Staffordshire, Scotland, or the Lake District, the M62 interchange with the M6 allows this. The Kingsway road tunnel provides access to the M56 and M53 motorways. If you want to get to Cheshire or Shropshire, take the A41. The A55 road runs along North Wales’s coastline.
Operating on the Wirral and Northern lines is the urban Merseyrail network which covers the entire county and beyond. It is championed as one of the most reliable railway networks in the UK and runs around 800 services per day. There are 66 stations on the network, four of which are underground.
Those living in Merseyside will have easy access to Liverpool John Lennon Airport which is located in the south of the city of Liverpool. Buses from Liverpool city centre and Liverpool South Parkway rail station shuttle passengers to the airport.
