Schools in Peacehaven
Peacehaven has one secondary school, Peacehaven Community School. It is a mixed secondary school for 11 to 16 year olds. It opened in 2001 following a 40-year campaign by the local community for a secondary school; before this there was no secondary establishment in the town.
The town has two primary schools: Peacehaven Heights Primary and Meridian Primary School.
Transport Links in Peacehaven
The A259 is the main artery connecting Peacehaven to neighbouring Brighton. However, at weekends or rush hour, it is best to ditch the car and use public transport as much as possible as the traffic can be diabolical.
There are a handful of bus routes serving Peacehaven, with the 12 and N12 providing access to Brighton. Route 14 is also a handy bus, shuttling between Peacehaven and Brighton train station. Other surrounding areas are also easily accessible by the local bus routes, including Eastbourne.
Peacehaven does not have a train station. Many commuters travel from Newhaven Town railway station, however, it does not have a car park. Trains from Newhaven Town run to London Victoria every half an hour, with 1 change in Lewes. Journey time is 1 hour 25 minutes.
You can also hop on trains from Newhaven to Brighton, with journey time around 25 minutes.
