Transport Links in Polegate
Just a stone’s throw from the coast, a drive from Polegate to Eastbourne is around 15 minutes. Double this journey time to drive to Brighton. However, driving is best avoided due to bad traffic at rush hour in both Eastbourne and Brighton.
Train services from Polegate to Eastbourne are operated by Southern and there are approximately four journeys an hour. For those commuting to Eastbourne from Polegate, train journeys take a blissful 7 minutes. Those needing to travel to Brighton will spend around half an hour on their train, whereas those commuting to the city will travel for 1 hour 30 minutes, often with 1 change.
There are a handful of local bus routes servicing the Polegate area. Stagecoach run the services that connect Polegate with Eastbourne. Services 51, 54 and 98 run every 15 minutes and the 56 (which connects Eastbourne, Polegate and Pevensey & Westham station) runs once an hour.
