Eating Out in Salcombe
The Winking Prawn is a beachside restaurant set in a 1920’s hut and very reminiscent of the seafood shacks in America. It is a fun experience and the breakfast, daytime, and dinner menus are a chance to sample some of the freshest seafood Devon has to offer.
Part of what makes Dick and Wills so special is the panoramic views of the estuary. The modern brasserie serves local and seasonal food with an array of delicious seafood dishes.
Lastly, The Crab Shed is a vibrant seafood restaurant in the heart of Salcombe on the water’s edge. The restaurant is supplied with the finest fish and shellfish directly from the boats that operate from The Fish Quay.
Transport Links Salcombe
The Salcombe Road is the main arterial road into the town and is accessible off of the A381 which connects to Kingsbridge.
Whilst there are a number of local and regional buses serving Salcombe, it does not have a train station. The nearest is Ivybridge, a 40-minute drive away. Services from Ivybridge call at nearby Totnes, and often head to Penzance, Plymouth, and London Paddington. Totnes one stop away from Ivybridge and a number of connecting services to various UK locations can be caught from here.
