In May this year Pete Monk owner of Britannia Quickmove decided to retire after 47 years in the removals and storage industry, 25 years of which were with Britannia. With a previous life in the RAF Pete established the business in a part time capacity until launching full time into Quickmove Wiltshire and then successfully joining the Britannia Group.
Taking over from Pete Monk are new owners – Daren Spencer, Ian Powell, Richard Hofen and Nick Clarke who also own Elm Holdings.
“The acquisition is an ideal fit for the business” reports Ian Powell, “We have now increased our self-storage to 146 internal units, 400 internal long-term storage crates and 52 external containers and intend to grow the removal side of the business by expanding into commercial decanting and moving”.
All 14 staff members with some serving the business for over 25 years have remained working with Britannia Quickmove “One thing that was evident right from our initial dealings was the dedication of all the Britannia team from drivers to packers, to all the internal teams” reports Nick Clarke (Projects Director).
When speaking about the acquisition of Britannia Quickmove Nick reported, “The Britannia Movers brand is well known in the industry for quality residential removals and will boost our existing commercial mover’s infrastructure with a fleet of vehicles and staff well versed in all things removal!”
On behalf of everyone within the Britannia family, we wish you every success for the future and hope that you are settling into the family nicely!
