Stuart Almandras – Director

I started working full time for Sandersteads in 1981 after leaving school as a porter. I worked my way through the ranks as Non HGV driver, and then onto HGV trucks, export and specialist packing, Forklifts – Reach & Counter Balance, and I have trained in all aspects of the manual moving.  I have studied and passed all industry training qualifications: CRE, OCRM, HCRM, ICRM which gains me an International CPC Qualification.

I was area chairman for a number of years of the BAR ( British Association of Removers) South East Area, before it was amalgamated with the New Metropolitan area.  Additionally, I was a Board Director for 6 years at Britannia Movers International PLC, and 2 years with BAR Services.

I was married to Jules for 25 years, and we had been together for 33 years in total, until her sudden death in August 2015 at 50 years young.  I have 2 daughters and 1 son, all adults but at home, which is good as my cooking skills, and command of the washing machine is poor.  There are no grandchildren, but 2 very demanding and fun dogs.

Apart from work and my family, I enjoy cars, motorbikes, fine timepieces, football (CPFC), martial arts, and most sports (except cricket), good food and drink with good friends.

Steve Almandras – Director

I am 62 years old, and  a UK & International Move Consultant, Specialist Office & Commercial Move Consultant, and an HGV Class 1 Driver and International CPC Holder. I have been married to Trish since 1983, and we have 2 kids, Joe and Sian, 3 grandchildren, and 2 dogs, Len and George. I tolerate my kids and the grand kids. I enjoy work, but really enjoy my home in the South of France, and the Camper for touring the UK and Europe with Trish and the dogs.

Trevor Woods – Ops Manager

I am 52 years old and married to Sharon. We have 2 children, are foster carers to 2 children, and have a dog called Riley. I work for Britannia Sanderstead as the Ops Manager. In my spare time, I enjoy playing golf and watching volleyball.

Lyn Inkpen – Payroll/Accounts/HR

I am 58 and have been married to my husband John for 38 years, have 2 children and four grandchildren! I work in payroll, accounts and HR at Britannia Sanderstead. I worked for British Gas then became an army wife and joined the family company along with my husband when we returned to the UK from Germany. I enjoy reading in my spare time.

John Inkpen – UK & International Move Consultant

I am John, I am 64 and married to Lyn. We have 2 children and 4 grandchildren, and a dog named Buddy. I work as a removals estimator for Britannia Sanderstead. I served in the army for 12 years with Royal Irish Rangers, leaving with the rank of a full corporal. I enjoy to read and watch CPFC in my spare time.

Mairead Almandras – Quotations/Account Manager

I am 27 years young still living at home with dad and my boyfriend of 4 years. No kids as of yet but I have 2 dogs who I treat as if they were my own children, they are spoilt and I love them dearly!

I don’t really have too many hobbies but I love socialising with friends over dinner or drinks but one hobby that’s more of an obsession is my shopping habit!!

I have worked for Britannia all my life (I have been involved since I was in nappies) but I took on a full-time role nearly 9 years now starting in admin and I now coordinate our sales diary, quote on Overseas moves and handle accounts with kitchen and carpet companies with storage and deliveries.

I am actively involved as a committee member with the BAR Young Movers.

Brenda Almandras – Administrator

I am 83 years old and retired although I can’t stay away! I work part-time at Britannia Sanderstead, 4 days a week from 10 am to 4 pm. I work in general admin, accounts, post and kitchen duties – I make the tea!

Alan Armstrong – UK & International Move Consultant

I am 55 years old, and am a UK & International Move Consultant, Specialist in UK, International & Commercial moves, and an HGV 7.5 ton Driver and International CPC Holder.  I have been in Sales with Sandersteads since 2004.  I’ve been married to Kate Since 2011, and we have 3 kids, George, Robbie and Grace.  I enjoy meeting new people in my sales role.  When I’m not working, I enjoy running, cycling and riding motorbike for pleasure.

Giles Dipper – Bookkeeper/Accounts/Archive & Document Management

Bentley – Office Dog

Bentley is an 8 years old Parsons Russell Terrier. Along with Cooper, they are part-time office pets, when not at home on the sofa.

Cooper – Office Dog

Cooper is a 7 years old Border Terrier.  Along with Bentley, they like to eat, drink, run around then sleep.  They love being petted by the office staff, and are happy to greet any customers, but bark at the men in High Viz jackets.
