About Pewsey

Pewsey is a large village in Wiltshire, dating back to the 6^th century. It has five pubs and a restaurant and wine bar in the village, and a waterfront bar and bistro north of the village at Pewsey wharf. There is also a sports centre with a heated swimming pool and squash courts, a post office, petrol station, supermarket, and a number of independent shops.

The village holds an annual music festival in the summer, with live music held at the local Cooper’s Field. There is also an annual carnival held in September, which was first held in 1898. The carnival includes The Feaste and an illuminated procession through the village.

Transport Links in Pewsey

By road – Pewsey is close to the M4 motorway, connecting the village to west London and across to Bristol and southwest Wales. It takes around two and a half hours to drive from Pewsey to London. Driving to the nearby town of Marlborough takes around twenty minutes and driving to Bristol takes around an hour and fifteen minutes. The village is also close to the A303, running through Hampshire and Devon.

By train – Pewsey has its own railway station on the Berks and Hants line. Trains to London Paddington take around an hour. The train to Bristol also takes just over an hour, but with one change needed.

By air – Bristol Airport is the most local airport to Pewsey. it takes around an hour and a half to drive there, or two hours by public transport.
