Sea freight
Sea freight is the most common type of shipping to Australia. It is typically the most cost-effective, but it will also take the longest time, which can be anywhere between 50-80 days. We’ll work with you to get your items packed and on the journey in good time, so you can have your belongings as soon as possible once you arrive in Australia.
Air freight
Air freight is another option for shipping your items to Australia from Wales. Shipping via air is usually much quicker – around 14 days – but will cost more. It can be a good choice if you have fewer items and will need them with you in a shorter timeframe.
Australia Customs and Imports

To import your items to Australia duty-free, you’ll need to be present in the country when your shipment arrives or be planning to return within six months. You’ll need to be an Australian citizen or have a long-stay or permanent residence visa, and you’ll need to have owned your belongings for at least 12 months prior.
There are a number of items that you are prohibited from importing into Australia. This includes alcohol, tobacco, weapons, certain cosmetics, some types of paintbrushes, and certain types of glazed ceramics. The Australian Government is strict on regulating anything that might contain soil or dirt, so items like sports equipment, shoes, and camping tools will need to be inspected at customs. Your international moving coordinator will be able to guide you through what is and isn’t allowed to be imported into Australia, so you can pack appropriately.
