Beith is a small town in North Ayrshire, about 20 miles south-west of Glasgow. It’s a town full of character and charm, with a rich and long history. During the 18th century, the town was associated with smugglers – as such, the popular Smugglers Tavern pub still operates from Main Street, although presumably serving more law-abiding citizens these days.

Beith has plenty of shops and eateries in the town but also offers great access to the rural Scottish countryside. The town resides next to Kilbirnie Loch, with Barr Loch close by. Beith Golf Club is highly regarded and offers the opportunity to enjoy one of Scotland’s famous golf courses.

Where to move in Beith?
Beith has a range of property prices, from terraced homes, characterful cottages, large detached properties, and new build developments. Barmill Road in southeast Beith is popular with families, offering large, detached homes at affordable prices. This area is also home to Beith Primary School.
Muirpark Road on the western side of town offers smaller terraced homes and converted apartments, perfect for first-time buyers. Transport links in Beith
Beith no longer has its own railway station, but the closest is only two miles away at Glengarnock. It can be reached in under 10 minutes by car or just over 10 minutes by bus. From Glengarnock station, journeys to Glasgow take half an hour.
The A737 bypasses Beith and provides access to other areas of Scotland. Driving to Glasgow from Beith takes between 30 and 40 minutes. Driving from Beith to Saltcoats on the coast will take around 25 minutes.
There are plenty of bus routes that serve Beith, with bus stops around the town and routes connecting to the wider area. These routes include to Kilmarnock, Irvine, and Glasgow.
Beith is just 11 miles from Glasgow International Airport, with the journey taking just 15 minutes by car or 50 by public transport.
