Why move to Largs?
Largs is a popular seaside town on the Firth of Clyde in North Ayrshire. There is evidence of human activity in Largs dating back to the Neolithic era and the town is proud of its long history. The iconic “pencil” monument on the coastline commemorates the Battle of Largs of 1263, between the Scots and an invading Norwegian force. The Brisbane family mausoleum built in 1636 is all that remains of the ancient kirk around which Largs was built.
The Largs pier was built in 1895 when the town first became a popular seaside resort for tourists. Though tourists have dwindled in recent years, the town still has a number of interesting tourist attractions, including the aforementioned historic places. There is also the Barrfields Pavilion Theatre, a swimming pool, and a sports training facility.
