About Halifax
Halifax is in West Yorkshire. It is the largest town in Calderdale, which is in the southernmost of the Yorkshire Dales. It is the commercial and cultural centre of the borough. The town has an industrial history, once being an economic hub for textiles and it was a mill town during the industrial revolution.
There are lots of cultural and heritage landmarks in Halifax, including the Piece Hall, a spectacular and sprawling Grade I listed Georgian building. Once an 18th-century cloth house, it now houses history exhibits, shops, bars and restaurants.

Transport Links in Halifax
Halifax has four direct rail services to London every day, taking just under three hours to reach King’s Cross. There’s also a direct train to Leeds, which takes around 30 minutes, plus services to Leeds, Bradford, Manchester and Blackpool.
The nearest motorway is the M62, which can get travellers to Manchester in around an hour, or to Leeds, Huddersfield, or the Peak District in around 30 minutes.
