In this post we’re going to take a look at some of the most popular cities across the UK and explain why so many people want to live in them.
Edinburgh, Scotland.
Scotland’s capital city of Edinburgh is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe and has plenty of outstanding landmarks including Edinburgh Castle and Salisbury Crags. It’s consistently voted one of Britain’s top cities and, although it attracts huge numbers of tourists, there are plenty of great attractions for locals. Tremendous schools, many distinctive and vibrant areas to live in and large employers make it a superb place to reside.
York, England.
York is a beautiful small city in the North of England that’s attracting an increasing number of new residents. York has a rich history that can be felt the instant you step foot in the city. The Council has done a tremendous job of maintaining York’s famous architecture and preventing the city from losing its unique feel.
London, England.
Undoubtedly the most popular place to live in the UK, by its sheer size of population alone, is London. As one of the most iconic capitals of the world it draws huge numbers of people from all across the globe.
Although London has a lot to offer housing is expensive. If you’re looking to buy a house in the capital looking at up-and-coming areas, like those in the east of the city, can provide you with better value compared to more established neighbourhoods.
Cardiff, Wales.
Cardiff has gone through a mini-boom during the past 10 years with the establishment of the Welsh Assembly and lots of inward investment. Within a short distance of some of the most beautiful countryside in the UK and easily commutable distances to other major cities it’s a real winner.
