Britannia Alan Cook Takes to Carrow Road

Britannia Alan Cook at Carrow Road

Britannia Alan Cook has recently had an exciting development for Managing Director Andy and all Norwich City FC fans. The local Norwich removals company had its name up in lights at Norwich’s home ground of Carrow Road and an advert in their match day programme. The stadium can hold over 27,000 people and hosts 23 home games for the Canaries every season.

Alan Cook also helps out Norwich City by providing a van when needed for the kit team. Andy has been a fan of Norwich City all of his life, first going to a match in 1977. Since then he has watched Norwich at over 80 different stadiums and holds a season ticket. He makes sure to go to all home games to support his team, and also gets to a few away games. His office at Alan Cook HQ is adorned with Norwich City memorabilia, including signed shirts and vintage match day programmes.

Andy’s favourite memories of watching Norwich City include the 1985 league cup semi-final win over Ipswich, when Steve Bruce scored the winner with the last touch of the game. He also recalls when Norwich City were the first English team to beat Bayern Munich at their home ground in 1993 – which is also where Andy proposed to his wife, for a double celebration.

Britannia Alan Cook is involved with all sorts of projects in the local community. They sponsor a local football club, Bungay Town, which offers opportunities for football to players aged 4 to 50. Alan Cooks also sponsors Hales and Loddon Cricket Club, based in Norfolk, where a few Alan Cooks staff members play. They also have plans to sponsor a local bowls club.

In the summer, Andy and the team help at local events by providing a vehicle to be used as a stage at fetes or events. They love being a part of the community and are always keen to help and get involved where they can.

When asked how it felt to have his company’s name up in lights at Norwich City’s home ground of Carrow Road, Andy replied “it was great, but not quite as great as seeing City stuff Ipswich”.
