Anyone who lives within a Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) in London will require a resident parking permit to park your vehicle. Many areas will have specific timings and periods where permits are required – signs on your road will provide more information for your situation. Residents will also be able to purchase separate visitor permits for their visitors to park in the area.
A parking permit doesn’t guarantee you’ll get a space on your road, but it does mean you won’t get a ticket for parking in the CPZ. For most resident parking permits, you will need a proof of address as well as proof of vehicle ownership to apply. Some parking permits are electronic and others will require a paper permit to be displayed in the vehicle, depending on which borough you are parking in.
